2026 Vancouver Island Stewardship Summit

The 2026 Stewardship Summit will bring First Nations, tourism business owners, staff members, community leaders, and residents together for a 1.5 day event in Ucluelet, BC. 

Event Program

The 2026 program will focus on the efforts of stewardship through destination management and collaboration. Speakers will provide tangible, inspiring presentations for attendees. The full day event will also include a State of the Region presentation from 4TVI (Tourism Vancouver Island).

October 22 - Evening Kickoff, hosted by Tourism Ucluelet, Community Partner.
Location: ReSurf. 

October 23 - Stewardship Summit Day, presented by FortisBC.
Location: Ucluelet Community Centre.

Wild Pacific Trail Guided Experience

October 24, 2026 from 10 to 11 a.m. 

Join us for a one-hour guided walk with our Senior Naturalist along the spectacular Wild Pacific Trail. Designed for tourism professionals attending the Ucluelet Tourism Conference, this “greatest hits” experience offers a broad introduction to the stories, landscapes, and experiences that make the trail such an iconic Vancouver Island destination.

From lush rainforest ecology and seasonal wildlife to fascinating tales of shipwrecks and the history of the trail itself, we’ll explore the diverse elements that shape the Wild Pacific Trail experience. Along the way, we’ll touch on coastal species, sea wolves, and the natural and cultural stories that connect visitors to this rugged shoreline. This walk offers a glimpse into the range of guided experiences and interpretive offerings available through the Wild Pacific Trail.
