OUR APPROACH
4EVER Strategies works with communities, local governments, and funders to embed climate resilience and regenerative practices directly into day-to-day operations. Bringing deep expertise in land use planning, policy, climate science, and economic development across rural, remote, and urban contexts, we recognize that no two places face the same risks. That’s why every project we take on is tailored to your unique landscape. Across four stages of Diagnose, Design, Cultivate, and Embody, our team will guide you from an honest assessment of where you stand today to becoming the adaptive, future-ready community you aim to be.
Four Stages of Development
Each stage builds the conditions for the next. Click on a stage to learn more.
01 - Diagnose
Diagnose your exposure before you plan.
-
Risk and Vulnerability Assessment: Diagnose your community or destination’s risks and vulnerabilities before future planning, funding applications, and infrastructure decisions to build long-term resilience. Delivered in partnership with ConnectSeven Group.
Investment Climate Screen: A concise, decision-ready brief that flags climate exposure, policy changes, and regulatory gaps before the shovel goes in, when the cost of addressing risk is lowest.
Visitor Experience Climate Assessment: Score the quality of your visitor experiences against future climate scenarios to understand both risks and opportunities for your community.
02 - Design
Design a resilient, regenerative roadmap.
-
MRDT Planning and Development: Strategic planning support from application through to annual work program development, reporting frameworks, and alignment with provincial requirements, helping organizations build programs that satisfy funders while advancing a regenerative destination vision.
Destination-Wide Adaptation Plan: A scientifically backed plan built with land use expertise and tourism sector knowledge to address your risks and vulnerabilities and guide investments and decision-making.
Destination Stewardship Strategy Development: A unique, relevant, and tangible stewardship strategy co-developed from the outset, with interest-holder engagement and asset assessment through to strategic prioritization, product development directions, and implementation frameworks, integrating regenerative tourism principles and climate resilience from the outset.
Tourism Plan Prioritization and Implementation: A review of your existing tourism plan or strategy, translated into a sequenced, prioritized, and fundable implementation plan, all while matching your priorities to MRDT plans, Destination BC, and federal rural development funding streams that can actually move them forward.
Community-Based Tourism Model: Tourism organizations are expected to manage governance, funding accountability, destination development, stakeholder expectations, and marketing, with shrinking capacity. The 4EVER Community Tourism Model combines an embedded community tourism specialist with access to a team of fractional experts, providing a comprehensive destination management solution structured around your MRDT budget.
03 - Cultivate
Grow the conditions for change through shared understanding.
-
Board Governance Training: A customized half-day or full-day session grounded in the specific challenges facing BC tourism destinations. Boards leave with a clear understanding of their responsibilities and practical frameworks for fulfilling them.
Regenerative Tourism Workshop Series: A facilitated program that takes destinations and/or operators from shared understanding to practical implementation, with tangible collaborative outputs at every stage. Provided in a hybrid format, with online introductory content and culminating in an in-person design day.
Climate Engagement and Workshop Series: Translate complex climate emissions and risk data into tourism-relevant narratives and understand how climate change will impact visitation and your destination. Available standalone or as part of a larger planning engagement.
04 - Embody
Embody your values through policy, product, and practice.
-
Destination Stewardship Pledge or Charter: We facilitate the co-creation of stewardship charters and visitor-facing pledges that are aligned with the Destination’s vision, locally rooted, reconciliation-aligned, and credible to external audiences. Available as a business and operator charter that sets expectations for how tourism operates in the destination, or a visitor-facing pledge that communicates your community's values directly to the people who visit.
CDMO Grant Program Development and Management: Tourism funding is only as powerful as the programs that deploy it. 4EVER provides end-to-end grant program development and administration, from program design and intake through adjudication, compliance, reporting, and impact measurement, so your organization can invest strategically without the operational strain.
