Specialist, Emergency Management & Engagement, 4TVI
Originally from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Evan Thibault is a strategist with a polymath focus, working at the intersection of the evolving tourism landscape, economic resilience, and deep technology. As Specialist, Emergency Management & Engagement at 4TVI, he collaborates with the BC Regional Tourism Secretariat and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport—playing a connective role between Vancouver Island communities, the BC government, and industry partners to help shape a tourism sector that is resilient, adaptive, and grounded in place.
With over a decade in hospitality, and a background in Commerce and Sociology from Saint Mary’s University, along with Adventure Tourism Business Operations from the College of the Rockies, Evan brings systems thinking and an interdisciplinary approach to his work. He led the development of the Regional Tourism Emergency Management Plan and plays a key role in stewarding Vancouver Island’s tourism sector through the complexities of change.
Driven by a deep curiosity about the human experience—and rooted in ethics, network effects, and an instinct for innovation—Evan is passionate about harmonizing culture, tools, and nature to co-create a more ethical, responsive world. When he’s not immersed in strategy sessions or weaving networks, you’ll find him skiing, mountain biking, surfing, or soaking in the rhythms of coastal life.
