Kacia Tolsma is a Registered Professional Planner and a member of the Planning Institute of BC, with experience supporting climate-friendly and resilient community planning and development. As 4EVER’s Director of Sustainability and Planning, she leads strategic initiatives focused on climate action, stewardship planning, and sustainable tourism practices across Vancouver Island and beyond.

Kacia holds a Master’s Degree in Resource and Environmental Management with a Planning Designation from Simon Fraser University, where her thesis explored nature-based solutions and green infrastructure in urban settings. She brings extensive experience in low-carbon resilience planning, having developed tools and strategies for municipalities, regional organizations, and non-profits—including climate action plans for the City of Colwood and City of Maple Ridge, and a Climate Action Report Card for Transition Salt Spring.

Kacia is passionate about systems thinking, practical implementation, and engaging with communities. Based on Salt Spring Island, she’s energized by opportunities to support climate leadership and community well-being through collaborative, place-based approaches. When she's not working, she can be found testing out new vegetarian recipes or in her garden.
