Genevieve Huneault, MA
Director, Tourism Development
Genevieve is a regenerative tourism strategist with expertise in community engagement, gender equity, and sustainable development. As Director of Tourism Development at 4EVER Strategies, she leads place-based initiatives that foster destination stewardship, Indigenous collaboration, and long-term resilience across communities on Vancouver Island.
She holds a Master’s degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies from the University of Northern British Columbia and is an ESG Certified Practitioner through the Centre for Sustainability and Excellence. Her projects span child welfare and Indigenous tourism growth in Canada, wildlife protection and community tourism in West Africa, and equity-based tourism research, including the Northern WE study with ITAC, Toronto Metropolitan University, and the Diversity Institute.
Genevieve also serves as a Board Director with the WORTH Association and is a Senior Advisor for The RISE Institute. With a passion for knowledge dissemination, she frequently shares her insights at tourism conferences and industry events. Off the clock, she’s likely hiking or camping, planning her next travel adventure, or painting.
